Craft and Chat

We usually meet every fourth Monday of the month at 10:00 am and spend two or three hours crafting and chatting together.

Our members share a love of a very wide range of handicrafts, including mosaics, ceramics, jewellery making, enamelling, knitting, dress making, crochet, embroidery, costume design, and quilting. You name it, one of our members probably does it!

We also do some group projects such as making knitted or crochet blankets that are donated to organisations that help people in need. We’ve made trauma teddies, penguin jumpers, lamb jumpers, made and put together packs to help new mothers in Papua New Guinea and dignity bags for women doing it tough in Australia.

Some of our members enter competitions, including the CWA Group and State handicraft competitions, the Bungendore Show, and Royal Canberra Show. Of course these competitions are open to anybody, not just our members (apart from a few categories). We can help you present your items so the judges will be sure to be impressed!

We have run school holiday craft activities and plan to do that in the future.

Sometimes the chatting happens more than the crafting.
